The majority of the Buxus sempervirens - Box plants that we supply are used for hedging as it makes a fabulous formal hedge, but our clients also use it for planting as an understorey species in mixed woodlands or for game cover.

Evergreen with small, shiny dark green leaves. It is a very long lived species and can live for several hundred years.

WHAT TYPE OF TREE SHELTER DO I NEED?

Protection is generally not required for Buxus sempervirens - Box if it is being planted in a garden setting with no herbivores present. If you are planting within a woodland setting then we would suggest using a Treeguard Mesh shelter for Shrubs which provides an open, airy environment for this multi-stemmed species.

WEED CONTROL AND MULCHING

Don't forget that good weed control around newly planted trees and shrubs is vital to reduce moisture stress and competition. This will improve plant survival and enhance growth.
