Job Opportunity: Maintenance Engineer
The Role:
We’re seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Engineer to join our team. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our fleet of machinery including forklifts, irrigation infrastructure and nursery automation processes. This is a hands-on position with plenty of scope to influence operational efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the nursery workshop and associated equipment
- Planned and reactive maintenance on nursery plant and equipment
- Maintain irrigation and fertigation systems
- Assist with nursery automation and mechanisation processes
- Assist to improve our production methods
- Assist with feasibility studies for new technologies
- Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards
- Support sustainability initiatives, including water and energy conservation
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in agricultural/mechanical engineering, plant maintenance, or a similar role
- Skilled in welding and basic fabrication
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on the go
- A positive, proactive attitude and good communication skills
- Passion for sustainability and innovation
- Driving licence essential
