Job Title: Trainee Sales & Customer Service Co-ordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join our company as a Trainee Sales & Customer Service Co-ordinator and to carve out a successful career in a fast growing and dynamic business.

Established for over 30 years, Cheviot Trees produce millions of forestry tree seedlings per year from our modern production facility in Foulden, Scottish Borders. 

No experience required, but good IT skills and an ability to learn quickly are essential.

About you

You must be a team player, have a strong ‘can do’ attitude and be able to juggle multiple tasks at any one time. You can communicate clearly and confidently.

Your role will be based in our office, but you should have a strong interest in the outdoors and rural life.

The role

  • You will be a key member of our sales team – providing and following up customer quotations including after-sales communication.
  • Providing advice to clients. We will provide you with comprehensive on the job training to build your skills and knowledge.  
  • Assisting with the logistics and purchasing teams plus general office admin as required.

This is a full-time salaried position with a requirement to work extra hours during our peak season.

A full driving licence is preferred. Salary subject to experience. To be in role summer 2022.

Job Title: Packing Assistant and General Nursery Worker

The right candidate must be able to demonstrate a track record of working within a tight knit team, and be prepared to adapt to day-to-day planning, working in a dynamic environment.

The role will vary throughout the growing season but will primarily assist with despatch operations, production and general nursery work as required.

Essential skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be a team player
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor environment, in all conditions when required
  • Physically robust and fit

Desirable skills:

  • Forklift operation
  • Experience in stock handling and order processing
  • Experience working within a horticultural or crop growing background

Job Title: Growing Team Assistant

Due to expansion, an opportunity has arisen to join our experienced growing team.

The right candidate should have an interest in plants and crop growing. You will assist with plant husbandry, watering and spraying operations as required throughout the growing season, along with other general nursery work as required. The work will be both indoor and outdoor throughout the year.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with plant husbandry and crop growing
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Physically robust and fit
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of spraying, with PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates
  • Be computer and tech-savvy
