Job OPPORTUNITIES

We currently have two job vacancies which are detailed below.

1. FORKLIFT OPERATOR AND GENERAL NURSERY WORKER

Responsibilities include the un/loading of couriers and hauliers at our busy Foulden nursery, maintaining stock and accessories and assisting with despatch, production and grading operations. Work is both indoor and outdoor through all seasons. The successful candidate will be required to undertake significant hands-on activity, along with forklift operating.
 

Essential skills:

Competent and experienced operator of rough terrain counter-balance forklifts – both rear wheel and articulated steering.
Sound analytical ability, able to operate under pressure in a busy working environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven track record working effectively in teams.
Physically robust and fit due to nature of the job involving regular manual handling and lifting.
Strong spoken English with adequate literacy and numeracy.
Valid driving licence.

Desirable skills:

Experience working within the agriculture/horticulture sector.
Trailer handling experience

The applicant must have a proven track record of good teamwork, with excellent communication skills and be able to multitask.

Working hours 0800 – 1630, with seasonal overtime/weekend work (typically January – June).

2. General Nursery Worker

To assist with sowing, production, grading and despatch operations at our busy Foulden Nursery. The work is both indoor and outdoor throughout the season.

Essential skills:

* Valid driving licence.
*
Physically robust and fit due to nature of job involving regular manual handling.
* Strong spoken English with adequate literacy and numeracy.
* Ability to work well within a team.

Desirable skills:

* Forklift (counter-balance and boom-lift) certificates.
*
Trailer handling.

The applicant must have a proven track record of good teamwork, with excellent communication skills and be able to multitask.

Typical working hours 0800 to 1630, with seasonal overtime and weekend work as required.
